Operation
The operations department is the main coordinator among the company’s departments, the charterers, and all third parties involved with the ships (i.e. ship agents, ship-chandlers, bunkering suppliers, etc.).
Safety and Environmental Awareness Promotion
- Establish and promote safety and environmental awareness among all fleet operating staff, ensuring the implementation of safe cargo operations through clear instructions and procedures.
- Monitor the effective implementation of the company’s cargo-related procedures on board, focusing on safety measures and environmental protection.
Ensuring Safe Cargo Operations & Procedures
- Investigate accident reports related to safety and insurance, taking necessary actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Appraise and appoint local agents based on their past performance or third-party recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
Managing Operational Performance & Non-Conformities
- Monitor day-to-day operational aspects of each ship, issuing necessary instructions when required, and addressing any non-conformities identified during ship and shore operations promptly.
Stakeholder Satisfaction & Management Objectives
- Monitor the collection of freight revenue, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing to minimize financial discrepancies.
- Provide proper voyage instructions to the Master, ensuring their awareness of all charter party terms and important details.
- Communicate with Charterers as needed to ensure their satisfaction with the vessel’s performance and strengthen the company’s relations with them.
Monitoring Vessel Performance & Chartering Coordination
- Monitor the collection of freight revenue, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing to minimize financial discrepancies.
